nourish - verb - to provide someone with food and other things that are needed to live, be healthy, develop or grow stronger
It’s apparent from the definition of ‘nourish’ just how much impact the everyday choices we make around food have on our general health and wellbeing.
Life is all about choice. And it’s no different when it comes to food.
The Whole Health Crew has a simple philosophy, that isn’t tied to any specific ‘diet’. As busy women, with 11 children between four of us on the ‘crew’, ranging from pre-schoolers to university students, we understand there is no perfect scenario when it comes to feeding a family with all their different needs and desires. And we are definitely not the food police!
However it’s no secret that unprocessed whole foods are better for you than processed foods. Or that increasing your intake of a range of multi coloured fruit and veges (especially your greens – yep, your mother was right all along!) is the way to go. You already know that eating lots of sugar, salt and bad fats and bad for you. And that there can be great benefits from eating raw, organic and local.
The truth is, most of us already know what is ‘good’ and ‘bad’ for us. The key is how to start making food choices that provide the optimum nutrients to benefit our own, and our families’ wellbeing. That’s where The Whole Health Crew can help. We understand how easy it is to get off track. Do you cook the same old things week after week? We’ve been there!
It is our mission to show you how easy it can be to incorporate more whole, raw, organic and locally grown produce into your lifestyle. Over time, this site will features heaps of delicious gluten, dairy and sugar-free recipes for you to try, and information about different whole foods and how they can benefit your wellbeing.
Please take a moment to have a look around. And keep coming back as we’re adding new content all the time!
